Fratino Pigro

Enjoy the place in Alba Adriatica

Our small town in Abruzzo is known for being the perfect tourist destination for those who want to spend relaxing holidays by the sea. Established just sixty years ago,  it is know all over Italy for its well-kept promenade, safe environment, hospitable facilities and served beaches. A place of peace where you can enjoy the fine sand and the mild climate, away from big urban centers and polluted environments.

The boroughs

In Abruzzo, the small villages that dot the hinterland are historic and suggestive. We find, very close to Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto Alto with its belvedere, from which we can admire the coast and the Majella overlooking the right; Old Giulianova where you can taste wines and the specialties of the area: the arrosticini; Grottammare, with picturesque corners with its low vaulted arcades and watchtowers, and many others.

The promenade

A few meters from the hotel you will cross the promenade that runs along the entire coast. Here you can walk, with rollerblades or by bicycle, enjoying the sea breeze among the palm trees that frame it. Continuing south we find chalets and private beaches but also protected areas such as "The beach of Fratino and Giglio di mare" from which our residence takes its name. Il Fratino, a small bird with a small, round body and an unusual black mask around its beak, manages to nest and finds shelter in the dunes of the Adriatic coast but its survival is strongly at risk, threatened by pollution and manipulation of the coast.

The pine woods

The pine forests dot the vast Abruzzo promenade creating spacious shaded areas perfect for picnics or to spend the hottest hours of the day. Our green pine forests are the right place to relax, perhaps reading a book, or to entertain the children in the play areas during the hottest hours, when it is better to avoid the sun.

The coast

You can walk along the coast for kilometers in both directions. Towards the south we find Tortoreto Lido and its cozy center, where you can visit the weekly market. Going south we cross the mouth of the Salinello river, inhabited by water birds, we arrive at the border of Giulianova, a larger city formed by a high part, the ancient town and by the one at sea level, which houses the large seaport. The center of Alba Adriatica develops along the seafront, where there are bars, restaurants, chalets, shops and evening markets.
